Locate Loaders and Unloaders

Professional Help When You Want It

Many MoveAmerica customers load themselves with help from friends, relatives, or neighbors. If you prefer professional loading or unloading help, MoveAmerica can help arrange third-party crews at origin, destination, or both.

Your Loading Options

MoveAmerica gives you flexibility. You may load your shipment yourself, use help from people you know, or request professional loading and unloading assistance through MoveAmerica.

Load Yourself

Many customers load their own shipment to save money and control how their goods are packed.

Use Friends or Family

Customers often load with the help of friends, relatives, neighbors, or local helpers.

Professional Loaders

MoveAmerica can help arrange third-party professionals to load or unload for you.

Origin and Destination

Loading and unloading help may be arranged at either end of the move, or both ends if needed.

Why Professional Loading Can Save Space

Because MoveAmerica charges by the linear foot of trailer space used, careful loading can reduce the amount of space your shipment occupies.

A competent professional loader may help you save space by loading efficiently, stacking properly, protecting furniture, and reducing wasted trailer space. This can be especially valuable because your transportation charge is based on the amount of space used.

MoveAmerica may offer flat-rate pricing based on the amount of space used or reasonable hourly-rate pricing depending on the service requested and local availability.

How To Request Loaders or Unloaders

To request loaders or unloaders, select the loading or unloading option on the quote request form before submitting your quote request, or update your options on the results page after receiving your quote.

MoveAmerica will then coordinate dates and times with you based on your trailer schedule and local crew availability.

Loading and unloading services are handled by third-party companies working on your behalf. These companies are not owned by MoveAmerica and are not agents of MoveAmerica.

Important Scheduling Advice

A good scheduling practice is to arrange delivery of the MoveAmerica trailer before scheduling loaders or unloaders. This helps ensure that the trailer is already on site when the crew arrives.

If loaders arrive before the trailer is delivered, you may end up paying for loading time while the crew is waiting for the trailer.

Some work can usually be done before the trailer arrives, such as wrapping furniture and moving items closer to the loading area. However, at some point the trailer must be on site for the loading to be completed.

Protecting Your Furniture and Goods

It is vitally important to properly protect your items before loading. Fragile items, televisions, tables, chairs, lamps, dressers, and anything that can be scratched, dented, or broken should be wrapped and protected with proper quilted moving pads.

Use Moving Pads

Use proper quilted moving pads rather than household blankets, comforters, paper, or thin coverings.

Protect Fragile Items

Televisions, glass, lamps, artwork, and fragile furniture should receive special attention.

Wrap Furniture

Tables, chairs, dressers, and wood furniture should be wrapped to help prevent scratches and dents.

Order in Advance

MoveAmerica can ship moving pads to you in advance of your move.

Insurance and Protection Warning

MoveAmerica may provide or arrange certain insurance or coverage options for damage that occurs to your items. However, if you do not purchase and use proper moving pads to protect your goods, coverage may not apply in the event of a claim.

Proper packing, padding, wrapping, loading, blocking, and bracing are essential parts of protecting your shipment during transportation.
